Mini
The seed for Mini Kennels was planted in 1990, when I, Rose, fell in love (against my better judgement) with a vivacious little Chihuahua cross female puppy named Mini. This was outstanding in itself, because I was not, up to this point, particularly a dog lover. However, something about this tiny “miniture shepherd” looking dog stole my heart. I told our friends who owned her (having found her as a stray) that if they ever found another one like her, I sure would like one like that. Before long, they decided to move and consequently told me I could have little “Mini” if I wanted her. That was a given!

We didn’t plan to breed her and for five years she just remained a dearly loved family pet, especially to our daughter Dixie. In 1995, as a result of a move to a new neighborhood and a neighbor who owned a small pom cross male, Mini had her first litter, and the rest is history.
Sadly, Mini (having never been sick a day in her life) passed away last summer on June 19, 2004, at the age of 14. This brought to the forefront once again our motto: “The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” (The Bible, Job 1:21) She left us with 6 beautiful girls – her offspring – to pass on her excellent qualities to future generations.
